32 hours is how long I have been awake.
You know what, though?
I've probably been awake much longer, because I didn't sleep the night before I departed.
But wait some more; I departed.
Danny and I took off at 8 pm (your time) last night, and landed at 2 am (yup, still your time) or, rather, 7 am (MY time). And LET ME TELL YOU, quite possibly the worst ride of my life. The seat belt sign never went off, and we were flying allllll over the place. At one point, the flight attendants were crawling on their hands and knees to get back to their seats. But, here's the funny thing: as deathly afraid of flying as I am, I wasn't in that bad of shape. I don't know why, either. Maybe it was because I was so numb from earlier in the day. Or, maybe it was because I was so excited to be escaping and doing something for me, going to fulfill this dream I've had since high school. Or, maybe it was because I was so nervous, I just didn't care what happened.
Danny and I had really stimulating turbulence conversation, though. We talked about energy flows and the sentient universe, if it has thought and will and how our thoughts and wills influence randimosity (I'm still not a believer in that last one, though). How religions can all be linked through cycles that are similar to energy flows and life patterns. Even tried our hands at tackling dimensions (but hey, we have a semester at Oxford to figure that stuff out). Either way, a mere two hours later we landed and began the mess that was getting from Heathrow to Crewe.
An exchanged bus ticket, Underground ride from Picadilly to Cockfoster (kid you not, those names are real), to Euston, and then an above ground three hour train to Crewe was all we needed. Nbd, we got this. I think I pulled all the muscles in my neck and arms trying to carry my Oxford bag. This whole being on the run deal with two checked bags was DIFFICULT.
Anyway, now Danny and I are safely at our family friends' house in Manchester. After showers, naps and dinners, we will be en route to shandy heavennnn! :)
Oh, how I missed Patrick and Miles!

Greetings from the Future!
